Council Votes
Public record of every Council ballot: the exact ballot texts, each signed vote, and the current tally.
Procedure: open ballots only. Each listed signer signs one published ballot text of that ballot, unchanged, with the signer wallet on Etherscan Verified Signatures. A vote or abstention counts only if its signature (EIP-191) verifies over the exact published text of its choice on its own ballot and recovers to the listed wallet; every ballot text names its ballot id, so a signature cannot be reused for another ballot. Records without such a signature are shown as unverified and not counted. What “verified” means: a vote is verified and counted when its signature, checked locally by the published checker, recovers to the listed wallet over the exact published ballot text. The Etherscan Verified Signatures link next to each vote is a published reference that anyone can open to check the same signature independently; the automated check validates only the link format and does not fetch or compare the Etherscan record. A ballot never executes anything by itself: any on-chain action still needs its own Safe transaction and, where applicable, the 48-hour Governance timelock.
Rules
- Eligibility: the Safe signers of the Treasury, Community and LP Reserve Safes (identical 3-of-5 owner set), fixed when a ballot opens, with the wallets listed on this page. The automated check proves that each signature matches a wallet listed in this record; it does not prove Safe ownership on-chain. The owner set can be checked on the Safe pages linked from Transparency. A Council registry may replace this snapshot later.
- Display: signers appear only with consented initials. Wallet addresses are public on-chain; no real names are published.
- Deadline: none, unless a deadline is approved by a separate Council vote.
- Abstentions are signed like votes, over the published ABSTAIN text of that ballot, and are not counted as votes. An abstention without a signature over that ballot's published ABSTAIN text is listed as unverified and not counted.
- Status colours: Open before the threshold is reached, Approved once it is reached, Executed after the resulting transaction is executed and linked.
- Secret ballots are in planning as a separate milestone: anonymous credentials or zero-knowledge membership proofs with a threshold tally. They need a threat model, scheme selection, an independent cryptography and privacy review, and a staging run before any real ballot. Until then all ballots are open.
- Portal: a page that automates this procedure (connect wallet, sign the predefined text, automatic verification, publication) is planned.
How to Vote
- Open etherscan.io/verifiedSignatures and choose Sign Message.
- Connect your Safe signer wallet.
- Paste the ballot text of your choice from this page, unchanged.
- Sign (free, no gas), choose Publish, and send the link to the Council.
